About The Position

Valkyrie Enterprises seeks a Production Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama, to support the Missile Defense Agency’s Targets and Countermeasures team. Contingent upon prime contractor approval, the role is responsible for verifying that critical missile flight hardware and propulsion systems are designed, fabricated, integrated, and tested in accordance with approved baseline standards and flight-worthiness requirements. The engineer evaluates prime contractor design and manufacturing processes, conducts technical reviews, and ensures compliance with mission assurance frameworks, including AIAA S-113 and related aerospace standards. The Production Engineer audits designs, drawing packages, manufacturing processes, and assembly records; assesses ordnance, explosive devices, pyrotechnic separation mechanisms, pressure vessels, and mechanical and propulsion subsystems; and participates in technical baseline reviews and milestone gates. The role also evaluates nonconformances and corrective actions, reviews qualification and acceptance test procedures and results, may witness critical tests onsite, and leads supplier-facing Integrated Product Team meetings to manage schedules, deliverables, and technical issues. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and at least seven years of experience supporting missile defense or large-scale, complex Department of Defense programs. An active Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it are required. Travel is minimal, at 10% or less. Physical requirements include prolonged sitting or standing, computer work, movement between worksites, communication with others, and moving objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Employment offers are contingent on applicable pre-employment requirements.
