About The Position

The primary purpose of this position, Production Controller, NJ-1152-03 is to provide vital planning, scheduling, and supply support to the assigned work center. Direct depot maintenance programs, including the repair, overhaul, manufacture, and modification of complex weapon systems, aircraft, engines, missiles, and associated major end items. Duties include applying knowledge and experience in the recurring manufacture, overhaul, or repair of products or projects using multiple process production methods and procedures to develop information necessary for the control of a complex product. This role involves planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. The position also requires participation in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performing special assignments. The Production Controller will represent the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Males must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NJ-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-05 or equivalent in other pay systems.
  • Specialized experience is described as planning, estimating, scheduling, and expediting the use of labor, machines, and materials in specific manufacturing or remanufacturing operations that employ mechanical or automated production systems and methods in the fabrication, rebuilding, overhaul, refurbishing, or repair of any type of Government-owned, controlled, or operated equipment, systems, facilities, and supplies.
  • Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
  • Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component.
  • Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
  • Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition, supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
  • Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues.
  • Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.
  • Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
