About The Position

The Production Control & Logistics Manager is responsible for leading activities related to production planning, scheduling, material flow, inventory control, and inbound/outbound logistics within a manufacturing environment. This role ensures that customer demand is accurately translated into executable production plans, materials are available when needed, and product moves efficiently through the manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–8+ years of experience in production planning, materials management, logistics, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Access, Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central a plus)
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on sales forecasts, customer demand, capacity constraints, and material availability
  • Monitor daily production outputs versus plan and adjust schedules as needed to meet customer requirements
  • Lead capacity planning, load-leveling, and constraint management
  • Work closely with operations to balance labor, machine availability, and prioritization
  • Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and subassemblies to support production schedules
  • Develop and manage inventory strategies including safety stock, min/max levels, and inventory accuracy improvements
  • Collaborate with purchasing to align supplier deliveries with production needs
  • Identify root causes of material shortages and lead cross-functional corrective actions
  • Drive improvement within inbound logistics and outbound shipments
  • Manage freight carriers, delivery schedules, and logistics cost optimization
  • Ensure compliance with customer shipping requirements (e.g., labeling, packaging, EDI, ASN accuracy
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems for scheduling, materials planning, and inventory management
  • Partner with engineering, operations, purchasing and quality to support new product introductions, engineering changes, and demand fluctuations
  • Lead discussions between customer service, sales, and production to finalize demand changes and delivery commitments
