Production Control Coordinator
About The Position
The Production Control Coordinator plays a crucial role in implementing and monitoring production plans within a manufacturing environment. This position involves close collaboration with the Planning team, shop supervision, and purchasing to ensure jobs are released efficiently and customer requirements are met. The coordinator is responsible for confirming material and tooling availability, communicating with various departments regarding schedule and technical issues, and resolving any disruptions to the production schedule. A key aspect of the role is tracking and analyzing production metrics to identify areas for improvement, ensuring product quality and compliance, and preparing reports for senior leadership. The coordinator also manages WIP inventory, tracks job status, and logs rework or non-conforming materials, aligning with the Planning team to drive actions and re-prioritize as needed to meet plan dates.
Requirements
- Experience in production control, planning, or similar roles within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent understanding of production planning, manufacturing workflows, and quality control principles.
- Proficient with ERP systems and production planning software.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- 5+ Years’ experience in a manufacturing role
- High School Diploma or GED
- U.S. Citizen
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor production plans, including initiation, analysis, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with planning and shop supervision to release jobs to designated work centers to ensure customer requirements and CIRCOR business objectives are met.
- Coordinate with planning and purchasing to release jobs for OSP to support the production plan.
- Confirm job materials and tooling are at work centers according to production and shipping schedules, ensuring work centers are operating at maximum efficiency.
- Communicate with Program Management, Engineering and Quality regarding schedule, status, and technical issues.
- Resolve any issues that disrupt the production schedule.
- Track and analyze key production metrics (production capacity, WC efficiency, production cost…) and identify areas and methods for improvement.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure product quality and compliance meet customer standards.
- Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on production status and challenges, working with Planning and program managers.
- Verify material holding up kit completion, provide status updates to planning, program management, and Operations team.
- Verify production orders are progressing through the correct routing and work center sequence per engineering and process specifications; identify and correct routing discrepancies.
- Track WIP inventory and job status at each operation from order release through shipment, maintaining real-time visibility to location, quantity, and stage of every open order.
- Track and log rework and non-conforming material re-entering the production flow — including, work center impact, and disposition.
- Align with Planning to drive actions when jobs deviate from the defined production plan, and re-prioritizing as needed to protect the plan date.
