About The Position

The Production Bed Lead directs and assists the bed crew in setting up and pouring a bed, ensuring cables, steel pieces, and other materials are properly placed. The role reviews shop cards, coordinates materials and crew assignments, checks bed layouts throughout the shift, and helps ensure concrete members are finished correctly. The employee also helps with bed stripping and preparation tasks, may assist with production and safety meetings, and performs other duties assigned by the Production Supervisor to meet production deadlines.

The work environment includes regular exposure to outside weather conditions, frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions and vibration, and usually loud noise levels.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience finishing concrete.

Responsibilities

• Review daily shop cards for the day's pour and plan the preparations needed to set up the bed.
• Communicate with support employees to ensure all necessary materials are brought to the bed.
• Direct the crew on the correct locations of wood, steel, and other materials.
• Check the bed layout against daily shop cards throughout the shift to ensure accurate construction of the concrete member.
• Direct and assist employees to ensure the concrete member has the correct finish.
• Ensure crew members strip and prepare the bed, including cleaning, oiling, and placing bulkheads, plates, and rebar.
• Help or assist with daily toolbox, production, and/or safety meetings.
• Perform additional production team duties described by the Production Supervisor to meet production deadlines.
