Part Time Production Associate
About The Position
Vestis is hiring a part-time Production Associate to work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. The role is responsible for safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the facility. No experience is required, and paid training is provided. The position offers flexible shifts and is suitable for students, people seeking a second job, or others looking for steady part-time income. Work is performed in a warehouse setting with regular exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise. Work follows a shift schedule that may include weekends, and overtime is required as needed. The role requires moving merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds and performing physical activities such as bending, reaching, pulling, twisting, stretching, lifting, standing, and walking for long periods. Requirements
- Ability to understand required training and written and verbal instructions.
- Working knowledge of basic math skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet the attendance schedule.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push, or pull merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, pull, twist, stretch, and lift; use hands for grasping and other fine manipulations; and stand and walk for long periods.
Nice To Haves
- High school degree or equivalent preferred.
- Working knowledge of sewing equipment, proper sewing techniques, thermo-patching equipment, and other tools used in textile repair.
Responsibilities
- Clean equipment and water and lint traps, and blow down the ironer, dryer, and tunnel.
- Perform production-expediting activities in various areas, including loading carts, obtaining supplies, moving boxes, cleaning plant areas, maintaining and stocking restrooms, and emptying garbage containers into marked trash bins.
- Operate a forklift if necessary.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment and observe best practices in production activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
