About The Position

The Production Associate performs day-to-day e-commerce order fulfillment, including picking, labeling, packing, rating, adding dunnage, taping, and shipping orders accurately and productively. The role involves reading SKU, quantity, and location information from pick sheets or orders; retrieving products and moving them through the production line; selecting packaging; processing labels; and preparing packages for the appropriate shipping carrier. Associates handle special shipping requests and communicate fulfillment issues to the department lead. They are expected to work effectively with or without direct supervision, keep job codes updated in the time clock system as assignments change, follow safety and company policies, and perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Positive attitude and ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
Ability to communicate verbally effectively with management and coworkers.
Ability to walk, stand, push, twist, and bend throughout a shift, generally eight hours.
Frequently lift customer merchandise weighing 0–50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Pick the correct products and quantities from warehouse locations using pick sheets or order information, and return items to the sorting area.
Select appropriately sized boxes, pack products, and move orders to the rating station.
Verify the number of boxes, scan orders and box sizes, process orders, apply labels, and move packages to the shipping station.
Fill boxes with the necessary amount of paper, fold box tops, and move boxes through the taping machine.
Verify package counts, scan rated labels to produce shipping labels, process special shipping requests, and place packages on the correct pallet or in the correct bin for the shipping carrier.
Perform assigned work to a high standard with or without direct supervision.
Communicate order fulfillment issues to the department lead so they can be resolved promptly.
Update job codes in the time clock system when moving between job functions.
Follow safety policies and adhere to company policies.
Operate production-line equipment and computer systems, including bagging, taping, and dunnage machines.
Perform additional duties as required.
