About The Position
The Production Assistant (FT) is responsible for preparing and maintaining the studio for live newscasts, operating the teleprompter, and tracking broadcast cues and talent positions. This role involves assisting talent and guests with equipment, moving studio cameras and set pieces, and performing basic maintenance. The Production Assistant also prepares and guides guests for interviews and supports various station departments, including Engineering and News. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a live production environment as a support crew or a degree in a related field preferred.
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to stand for multiple hours at a time
- Usage of ladders up to 25ft
- Availability to work early morning hours including weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain the studio for live newscasts
- Operate teleprompter
- Keep track of broadcast cues and talent positions in studio
- Assist talent and guests with microphones and other equipment
- Move and position multiple studio cameras and set pieces
- Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of studio space and equipment
- Prepare and guide studio guests from standby locations to on-air interviews or segments
- Support operation of the station by assisting Engineering, News, and other departments
- Other duties as assigned
