About The Position

The Production Assistant supports operation of the production line and process equipment in the Operations department. The role assists with start-up and operation, blending, product inspection, production control adjustments, equipment maintenance, and recording quality and production metrics. Work is performed with a safety-first mindset and use of IPS lean manufacturing skills. The position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Intermediate math skills.
• English written communication skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time.
• Ability to regularly lift large, lightweight items above head.
• Ability to consistently lift and maneuver up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the safe, controlled start-up and operation of the production line and process equipment, including starting machines, engaging feed, observing operations, and managing changeovers.
• Assist in maintaining the blending system, including mix recipes.
• Inspect and measure completed pieces to verify they meet customer production standards.
• Monitor and adjust controls to ensure products comply with production standards.
• Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs to help maintain equipment.
• Record quality and production metrics in writing and within required deadlines.
• Perform all work with a safety-first mentality and use IPS lean manufacturing skills.
• Perform related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
