About The Position

The Product Sourcing Engineer, Warfighter Systems, conducts supplier selection and partners with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development. The role helps define product requirements, evaluates feature trade-offs, develops should-cost and clean-sheet models, and supports joint design development through clear statements of work. The position drives development and consolidation of the manufacturing bill of materials (BOM) in collaboration with Quality and Manufacturing, supporting production ramp-up internally and with suppliers. It is accountable for on-time, accurate procurement of NPI components, manages NPI capital expenditures, and optimizes supply-network lead time and flexibility through value-stream mapping. The role also completes BOM risk assessments, including alternate sourcing, ensures vendor component qualifications are completed before production, and reduces complexity through commonality optimization and component and supplier rationalization. It leads cost engineering to align bottoms-up costs with product costs and maximize total cost of ownership across the product lifecycle, while managing ad hoc cost issues such as tariffs, import/export costs, and inflation. Travel may be required up to 25%, and the candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret clearance.
