About The Position

The Product Sales Manager is responsible for developing, launching, and driving growth of key product lines within Martec’s portfolio. This role combines product ownership, sales execution, and technical expertise to expand market share, support revenue growth, and strengthen Martec’s position in targeted segments. The Product Sales Manager will act as the primary subject matter expert, building product offerings, enabling sales teams, and leveraging industry relationships to generate new business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in product sales, technical sales, or intermodal/transportation-related industries
  • Strong knowledge of domestic container, chassis, rail, or reefer parts preferred
  • Deep product knowledge and ability to translate technical information into sales opportunities
  • Proven ability to open new markets and generate revenue growth
  • Strong relationship-building skills within transportation, rail, or logistics sectors
  • Ability to influence and train sales teams without direct authority
  • Strong business acumen with a focus on profitability and scalability
  • Self-starter with the ability to build structure in an emerging or developing market

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage product offerings for assigned categories (e.g., Domestic 53’ container parts, reefer components, rail-related products)
  • Develop initial and ongoing inventory strategies aligned with market demand and sales opportunities
  • Create standardized product listings, pricing structures, and sales materials to simplify the sales process
  • Identify gaps in current product offerings and recommend expansion opportunities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across railroads, domestic container fleets, and intermodal operators (e.g., UP, NS, CSX, Amazon, JB Hunt)
  • Leverage existing industry relationships to generate immediate and long-term sales opportunities and direct activity through Martec locations where applicable
  • Transition and expand existing customer relationships into Martec’s sales channels to support broader revenue growth across product lines
  • Drive revenue growth through both direct selling and partnership with local sales teams
  • Support strategic initiatives tied to rebuilding volume and entering new markets
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned product lines across all sales channels
  • Train and mentor National Sales Team (NST) and local sales teams on product knowledge, positioning, and selling strategies
  • Conduct joint sales calls (“work-togethers”) to support deal development and accelerate learning
  • Develop sales tools, product literature, and pricing guides to enable consistent execution
  • Assist in developing pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and margin expectations
  • Support key customer opportunities, including large bids, projects, and national accounts
  • Partner with leadership to define target accounts, growth strategies, and customer segmentation
  • Partner with Operations and Procurement to ensure product availability aligns with demand
  • Collaborate with Finance and Leadership on forecasting, margin performance, and investment decisions
  • Support long-term planning related to product expansion, succession, and sales team development
  • Other duties as assigned
