About The Position

AssetWorks is seeking an experienced Product Owner to support our industry leading Enterprise Asset and Fleet Management software products. This role is execution focused and serves as the primary bridge between Product Management strategy and Engineering delivery. The Product Owner is accountable for backlog quality, sprint readiness, release execution, and day to day delivery operations, ensuring that teams are building the right solutions at the right time with clearly defined acceptance criteria. Success in this role requires strong Agile discipline, excellent cross functional communication, and the ability to drive decisions in a fast moving environment. Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously refine the product backlog to ensure items are well‑defined, prioritized, and sprint‑ready
  • Establish and enforce user story standards, including: Clear business value, Complete acceptance criteria, Testable conditions of satisfaction
  • Partner with Product Managers and UX to refine epics and stories while preserving original product intent
  • Maintain backlog health by managing dependencies, aging items, and scope clarity
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release planning ceremonies
  • Ensure teams have a predictable, achievable sprint commitment
  • Facilitate prioritization of: Features, Defects & Technical debt
  • Act as Release Manager to: Coordinate release schedules, Validate scope readiness, Ensure on‑time delivery to customers
  • Support annual and quarterly planning by translating roadmap initiatives into executable plans
  • Serve as the primary day‑to‑day point of contact for Engineering related to scope, priority, and acceptance
  • Answer clarifying questions during development and testing
  • Remove blockers and escalate risks to Product Management and leadership as needed
  • Partner closely with QA to ensure requirements are testable and outcomes meet acceptance criteria
  • Support CI/CD processes and ensure stories meet “Definition of Done” standards
  • Drive adherence to Agile best practices and team standards
  • Monitor and enforce Jira hygiene including: Status accuracy, Proper estimations, Epic/story alignment
  • Facilitate continuous improvement through retrospectives and delivery metrics
  • Establish and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to delivery health and predictability
  • Provide regular status updates on sprint progress, risks, and dependencies
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with: Product Management, UI/UX, Engineering, QA, DevOps
  • Translate high‑level product direction into clear, actionable execution plans
  • Drive alignment when priorities shift due to business or customer needs
