About the position
As a Product Owner at Appspace, you will be responsible for maximizing the value of our products and the work of the engineering team. You will own, define, and drive the Product Backlog, as well as the functional design and implementation for your products. Your role will involve prioritizing features, ensuring timely and high-quality product delivery, and serving as the internal voice of the customer. With a focus on Agile development, you will collaborate with various stakeholders and work closely with the Product Leadership team to translate business needs into actionable visions. A bachelor's degree in information systems or computer science, along with 2-4 years of experience as a Product Owner, is required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with various stakeholders to maximize the value of products and the work of the engineering team
- Own, define, and drive the Product Backlog, and the functional design and implementation for products
- Define and prioritize features that align with the product strategy and meet market requirements within Agile development life cycles
- Communicate priorities to the engineering team and engage all disciplines in planning, design, and implementation as the internal voice of the customer
- Ensure the right product is delivered on-time and on-quality
- Continuously understand the business needs/technical initiatives and translate them into an actionable vision
- Initiate and translate product roadmap into manageable product backlog
- Manage, adjust for risk, and prioritize product backlog
- Lead the delivery of new product features through creation of release documentation, workshops, and operational support of launches
- Connect with Scrum and Support teams throughout the product's lifecycle
- Define US Acceptance Criteria's and validate US against it
- Lead refinements and ensure development teams' doubts clarification
- Establish the main goal for the sprint in the sprint planning meeting
- Communicate owned product roadmap status into the Product team
- Foster a "fail fast" environment that facilitates learning
- Develop productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical partners
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Approach work with a detail-oriented mindset
- Have a good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle applicable to enterprise software applications
- Write detailed requirements documents and user stories
- Self-manage priorities with minimal day-to-day supervision
- Apply creative thinking and advanced problem-solving skills for complex problems
- Have an understanding of technical aspects related to the role
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or related technology degree
- 2-4 years' experience as a Product Owner of an Agile development team
- Thorough understanding of Scrum framework and its associated ceremonies
- Extensive experience working in an Agile environment
- Ability to develop productive working relationships with both technical and non-technical partners
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
- A detail-oriented approach to work
- Agile/Scrum Master and/or Product Owner certifications a plus
- Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, applicable to enterprise software applications
- Experience writing detailed requirements documents and user stories
- Ability to self-manage priorities with minimal day-to-day supervision
- Creative thinking and advanced problem-solving skills for complex problems
