About The Position

Wenco International Mining Systems, a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery, provides innovative technologies for the mining and material movement sectors, focusing on sustainable and safe operations. The Product Marketing Specialist will report to the Director of Marketing and be responsible for developing product positioning, messaging, go-to-market strategies, and pricing recommendations for Wenco’s digital solutions. This role involves conducting market and competitive research, translating technical product capabilities into customer-facing value propositions, and equipping sales teams with necessary tools and intelligence. The goal is to become a key source of market insight that influences Wenco's product market strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in product marketing, product management, marketing analytics, or a similar role.
  • Experience conducting market research using standard processes and techniques, including qualitative and quantitative primary and secondary research.
  • Demonstrated ability to create competitive analysis, including technical and product comparative analysis of solutions.
  • Familiarity with pricing strategy concepts, including competitive benchmarking, value-based pricing, and margin analysis.
  • Experience creating and delivering strategy and product presentations to internal stakeholders, customers, or partners.
  • Working understanding of financial models, including profitability analysis, revenue forecasting, and scenario planning.
  • Proficiency with business tools including Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), CRM platforms, and collaboration tools.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear, concise business communications and compelling product narratives.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, sales, and executive teams.
  • Self-directed and able to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • An MBA or related postgraduate qualification is an asset.
  • Experience in B2B technology, mining, heavy industry, or industrial automation is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain product positioning, messaging frameworks, and value propositions for Wenco’s fleet management solutions.
  • Create Product Communications Briefs that translate technical product capabilities into customer-facing language for use by sales, marketing, and executive teams.
  • Research and document target customer profiles, buyer personas, and sales decision processes for mining fleet management.
  • Research and create competitive positioning documents in collaboration with Product Management and Technical Sales.
  • Develop and maintain product pricing documentation and recommendations for existing and new products, incorporating market data, competitive intelligence, and cost inputs.
  • Conduct pricing analysis and benchmarking to support the Director of Marketing in presenting pricing recommendations to the executive committee.
  • Support business case development for new product and partnership/acquisition opportunities, including financial modelling and market sizing.
  • Develop go-to-market strategy plans for priority products and solutions, coordinating across marketing, sales, and product teams.
  • Create and deliver product messaging, presentations and sales enablement materials for use by Technical Sales and executives.
  • Support product and solution launches with coordinated messaging, collateral, and campaign planning.
  • Conduct market research on customer needs, competitive trends, and industry developments in mining technology and fleet management.
  • Produce win-loss analysis and contribute to SWOT assessments for use in business and product planning.
  • Research and create case studies and white papers on high-priority solutions in collaboration with subject matter experts.
  • Handle ad-hoc requests as required.
