About The Position

This role is responsible for managing externally facing card products and capabilities that generate revenue, improve the customer and provider experience, and support Optum Bank's growth and platform modernization strategy. The Product Manager owns the end-to-end lifecycle for assigned products or product domains, including strategy, discovery, requirements, prioritization, launch readiness, performance optimization, and product outcomes. This is a hands-on product ownership role that operates in a fast-paced, highly visible environment across business, technology, risk, compliance, operations, and third-party partners. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Requirements

3+ years of product management experience supporting revenue-generating products
3+ years of experience building or managing card programs products in financial services or another regulated environment
3+ years of experience managing products across the full lifecycle
3+ years translating business and customer needs into product requirements, process flows, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlog content
3+ years independently solving complex or ambiguous problems using customer, financial, operational, or product data
3+ years communicating product decisions, risks, dependencies, and recommendations across business and technology stakeholders

Nice To Haves

Experience with small business, commercial, provider, consumer, or healthcare lending
Experience with product-level P&L ownership, pricing, forecasting, or financial performance management
Experience with loan origination, loan servicing, credit decisioning, payments, portfolio monitoring, or collections capabilities
Experience with APIs, data integrations, digital lending platforms, or third-party financial technology providers
Experience working across multiple delivery teams or shared platform capabilities
Experience using AI or automation in product management activities
Experience mentoring or serving as a subject matter resource
Familiarity with Agile or iterative product development practices

Responsibilities

Own the full product lifecycle for assigned card products or product domains, including strategy, discovery, design, development readiness, launch, optimization, and retirement
Define product strategy, roadmap, value proposition, business outcomes, and success measures aligned to customer, market, regulatory, risk, and business needs
Drive product performance, including revenue, growth, profitability, customer adoption, operational efficiency, and risk outcomes
Own or influence product P&L, including pricing, margins, forecasting, and financial impacts, in partnership with Finance
Create clear product requirements, process flows, customer journeys, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlog content that are ready for technology refinement and delivery
Maintain product readiness by identifying open decisions, dependencies, risks, business rules, and accountable owners before work is committed
Independently navigate complex and ambiguous product decisions and drive cross-functional issues to resolution
Own product outcomes across business teams, technology, operations, risk, compliance, legal, finance, and third-party card partners
Engage with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders to inform product direction and improve the customer experience
Provide concise, decision-oriented updates on product outcomes, readiness, risks, dependencies, and required leadership actions
Use customer insights, product data, market research, and competitive analysis to identify growth and improvement opportunities
Leverage approved AI and automation capabilities to accelerate product analysis, requirements development, decision support, and product documentation
