Product Manager - 529 Prepaid

Vestwell•Austin, NY
•Hybrid

About The Position

Vestwell is hiring a hands-on Product Manager for its Government Savings business to help build a full recordkeeping and saver experience for a prepaid tuition 529 program. Unlike an investment-based plan, this program lets families purchase tuition credits at current rates. This is a greenfield build with a fixed deadline, and the Product Manager will own defined functional areas from discovery and requirements through testing and launch, working with guidance from senior product leads. The role involves translating stakeholder goals into buildable features, developing and documenting business and functional requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria, collaborating closely with engineering, QA, design, operations, servicing, relationship management, and marketing, and providing iterative feedback throughout development. The Product Manager will complete functional testing, sign off on production-ready features, monitor progress and risks with senior product leads, and use data to validate assumptions and investigate issues. The position is based in Vestwell’s hybrid in-office operation, with a role location in New York City, Austin, or King of Prussia.
