This contractor opportunity is for experienced Product Managers who excel in fast-paced consulting environments, are comfortable with ambiguity, and enjoy end-to-end ownership of products and client relationships. Product Managers at Cheesecake Labs go beyond backlog management, playing a key role in connecting product thinking, delivery execution, client management, and strategic decision-making, especially when products are still evolving and business goals are being defined.

Requirements

Managed digital products end-to-end across web and mobile environments, balancing strategy and hands-on execution.
Confident working in English with international stakeholders across calls, workshops, presentations, and async collaboration.
Make strong product decisions even when data is incomplete and the metrics environment is still evolving.
Commercially aware, understand budget/scope dynamics, and communicate proactively.
Adapt well to fast-changing contexts, shifting priorities, and different industries or client environments.
Previous experience in consulting, agency, or service-based environments.
Already use AI as part of their daily workflow.
Be legally authorized to work as an independent contractor in the US.
Have a valid business structure or tax registration compatible with contractor payments (LLC, EIN, or equivalent).
Have a bank account eligible to receive USD payments.
Be able to invoice accordingly if required for the engagement.

Responsibilities

Lead product discovery and translate ambiguous client goals into clear direction for design and engineering.
Own scope, backlog, delivery cadence, and quality across complex or multi-phase engagements.
Drive proactive client relationship management, surfacing risks, strategic next steps, and expansion opportunities.
Work closely with engineers, designers, and delivery leaders to shape valuable, feasible, and scalable product decisions.
Mentor other Product Managers and help evolve discovery and delivery processes.
Champion AI tooling adoption across workflows like prototyping, requirement writing, research, synthesis, and delivery operations.
Act as a product reference in pre-sales conversations, strategic discussions, and client-facing product decisions.
Manage part-time allocations across multiple engagements without sacrificing quality or communication clarity.
