About The Position

Rocket Doctor is seeking a smart, energetic, and highly motivated Product Manager to join their collaborative startup environment. This role is passionate about making an impact in the healthcare industry. The Product Manager will be data-driven, understanding the needs of both provider and patient user groups, and will prioritize and execute product initiatives throughout the full product life cycle. This role involves participating in discussions and collaborating with peers from Product Management, Engineering, Design, Patient Care, Medical, and Leadership teams. Responsibilities include documenting and organizing detailed product specifications and working with Design and Engineering teams to transform ideas into solutions and deliver key features. The role begins as a 0.4 FTE (16 hrs/2 days/week) with flexible working hours and has the potential to expand to full-time (1.0 FTE) within 6-12 months.

Requirements

  • A bachelor degree in business, engineering, or computer science.
  • 2-6 years of product experience as a Product Manager and/or Product Owner.
  • Experience in working in a cross-functional team environment with engineers, designers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Enjoy taking initiatives to lead and execute on mission critical features while maintaining great attention to detail.
  • Strong empathy for customers and their experience from using our product.
  • A passion for collaboration, a desire to learn, teach, and grow beyond the current edges of your skills.
  • Motivated and curious to explore ideas to solve challenging problems in the healthcare space.

Nice To Haves

  • A background in clinical informatics, electronic health record (EHR) implementation, or healthcare IT preferred.
  • Working with clinicians is preferred.
  • Agile software development experience preferred – Scrum or Kanban.
  • Having industry-specific technical knowledge working in digital health is a definite asset.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle.
  • Define the long-term vision, prioritize backlogs, and build roadmaps that improve clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Translate complex medical, clinical, and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications.
  • Act as the ultimate translator between healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, administrators), the clinician success team and engineering/design teams.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog items.
  • Lead and manage product release communications – internal and external.
  • Stay up-to-date on the healthcare market and competitive landscape.
  • Work with product leadership on product roadmap planning, maintenance, and ensure prioritized product initiatives are aligned to accomplish business objectives and remain ahead of the market/competitors.
