Product Manager

Shaker Recruitment MarketingOak Park, IL
$95,000 - $125,000Hybrid

About The Position

In this role as Product Manager, you will own the full product lifecycle for a new in-house platform that manages paid media campaign budgets across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and TikTok. From discovery through build, launch, and ongoing operations, you will define the roadmap, write requirements, manage an offshore engineering team, and work closely with our digital activation practitioners to deliver a product that replaces existing vendor tooling with something built precisely for how Shaker works.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product management experience, with at least one full cycle of taking a product from zero to launch
  • Hands-on experience with ad tech platforms — Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Microsoft Advertising, or TikTok for Business — as a practitioner, in a PM role, or building tooling for these platforms
  • Strong understanding of paid media concepts: campaign structure, budget pacing, bid strategies, flight dates, and campaign lifecycle management
  • Proven ability to write detailed product requirements that engineering teams can execute without ambiguity
  • Experience managing distributed or offshore engineering teams
  • Comfortable working with APIs at a conceptual level — understanding authentication flows, rate limits, data models, and push/pull operations without writing code
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and drive clarity from complexity

Responsibilities

  • Own the full product lifecycle for a new digital activation platform — from discovery and requirements through build, launch, and post-launch operations
  • Define and maintain a phased product roadmap, balancing activation team needs, engineering dependencies, and business priorities
  • Write clear, detailed product requirements and user stories that an offshore engineering team can execute independently
  • Lead Discovery: audit existing automation workflows, document budget pacing logic, and validate third-party API capabilities
  • Manage sprint planning, backlog grooming, stand-ups, and retrospectives with the engineering team
  • Serve as the primary liaison between engineering and the digital activation team — translating practitioner workflows into precise product specifications
  • Work closely with the Lead Engineer to validate architecture decisions, API integration approach, and technical tradeoffs
  • Define and oversee QA processes, leveraging AI-assisted testing tools
  • Monitor platform health, push success rates, and pacing accuracy post-launch and drive continuous improvement
  • Manage the DevOps vendor relationship to ensure infrastructure reliability
  • Communicate progress, risks, and decisions clearly to senior stakeholders
