About The Position

Morning Consult is a global decision intelligence company that helps leaders make smarter, faster, and better decisions by combining proprietary high-frequency data with applied artificial intelligence. This role is available in any of their office locations (Washington, DC; New York, NY; Chicago, IL) or can be based remotely, with a preference for candidates in Washington, DC or New York, NY. The company offers catered lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and impromptu after-work happy hours. The Product Manager will join a collaborative, driven, and creative product & engineering team, working with data and leveraging AI. This is an execution-first role where the Product Manager will partner with engineering to manage a backlog, write tickets, unblock work, and ensure smooth progress between teams. The role involves navigating ambiguous problem spaces and bringing clarity and momentum. The Product Manager will work closely with a Senior PM who oversees the strategic picture for two engineering teams, focusing on details, keeping things moving, and building trust. There is potential for growth into more strategic ownership and client-facing work over time. Morning Consult is open to diverse backgrounds, prioritizing self-starters who are smart, curious, and proactive, with a few years of relevant experience being beneficial but not the sole determinant of qualification.

Requirements

Roughly 3-5 years of relevant experience (product management, engineering, operations, client success, program management).
Proactive, low-ego, and collaborative.
Strong, clear communicator who shares status and priorities without being asked.
Comfortable moving fast and showing work early, even when not fully polished.
Curious enough to dig into technical domains and ask questions until genuinely understood.
A relationship-builder who engineers trust.

Nice To Haves

Experience with APIs or technical/data products is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Own a clean, prioritized backlog with clear user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, and scope decisions.
Partner with engineering on solution design and scope, pushing for iterative releases.
Set the team up for productive planning and refinement by coming prepared.
Track metrics to inform future decisions.
Proactively surface risks, blockers, and issues.
Work with engineering leads and Senior PM to help shape and prioritize problem statements.
Build domain fluency by asking questions to understand the 'why' behind the work.
Communicate clearly to various audiences, including writing help docs and release notes.
Keep stakeholders honestly informed on status.
As growth occurs, take on more direct stakeholder and client conversations, asking discovery questions.
