About The Position

State Street Alpha is seeking a Vice President Product Manager to lead strategy and delivery for next-generation Enterprise Data Management (EDM) platform services. The role shapes cloud-native, independently deployable data services that help large investment firms master, govern, and distribute data at scale. The Product Manager owns the vision, roadmap, and delivery of foundational capabilities including entity and identifier resolution, reference data management, extensible data models, and resilient release management. This is a hands-on, technical leadership role working closely with engineering, architecture, and client teams to translate complex platform challenges into clear requirements, sequenced roadmaps, and measurable client value. The role is important to evolving State Street Alpha’s market-leading SaaS Data Platform into more modular, scalable, and flexible-to-deploy services, simplifying adoption and operations for clients while enabling faster, safer releases. The Product Manager leads product strategy, requirements, design reviews, cross-functional alignment, success measurement, and client and market engagement. The role also mentors product managers and business analysts and reports progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership. Travel may be required for client engagements, including internationally.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product management experience in enterprise data management, reference data, or SaaS data platforms, including ownership of prioritization, trade-offs, timelines, and go-to-market execution.
  • Deep knowledge of investment data domains, including securities, issuers, pricing, portfolios, transactions, and corporate actions, and the front-to-back investment lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with security master, entity resolution, identifier cross-referencing, and data lineage.
  • Strong technical grounding in cloud-native and microservices architectures, multi-tenant design, metadata-driven data models, and CI/CD and release practices.
  • Proven record of leading complex, multi-workstream programs through ambiguity to deliver scalable platform capabilities.
  • Executive presence and ability to translate technical architecture into clear business value for senior stakeholders and clients.
  • Experience with Agile delivery and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client engagements, including internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product definition for a shared, multi-tenant entity resolution service supporting API, batch, and event-driven processing across securities, issuers, accounts, and other reference data domains.
  • Define requirements for configurable, client-specific matching and resolution rules that work alongside enterprise-wide standards.
  • Lead reference data management strategy, from scoping through delivery, for data such as countries, exchanges, and currencies.
  • Drive a metadata-driven approach to data model extensibility so clients can tailor data models without disrupting platform releases.
  • Champion release resiliency so platform services can be upgraded or rolled back independently with minimal client impact.
  • Author product requirements and lead structured design reviews with architecture and engineering teams.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, architecture, operations, client delivery, and go-to-market teams, managing dependencies and trade-offs across initiatives.
  • Define and track success metrics, and report progress, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Partner with clients, prospects, and sales to validate requirements, support market data integrations, and position data platform offerings.
