About The Position

We are seeking a Project Manager (AVP) to lead complex, cross-functional product initiatives within Middle Office and Investment Accounting. The role drives delivery across workstreams spanning Product, Engineering, and Operations, with an emphasis on governance, dependency management, and disciplined execution. It serves as the central coordination point for product development initiatives, aligning business requirements and product strategy with engineering delivery while combining hands-on execution, stakeholder engagement, and delivery oversight. Charles River Development provides technology and capabilities across the investment lifecycle. The Middle Office team uses advanced technology and critical thinking to drive results. Charles River Development has developed asset management technologies since 1997 and is strategically aligned to innovate investment management technology. Together with State Street’s middle- and back-office capabilities, Charles River’s cloud-deployed software technology forms the foundation of State Street Alpha. The Project Manager owns product and development initiatives from scoping through testing and release; develops and manages project plans; coordinates cross-functional teams; manages risks, issues, and dependencies; and maintains traceability from business requirements through release deliverables. The role leads governance and stakeholder communications, drives corrective action when delivery is off-track, and serves as the primary contact for senior stakeholders on project status, risks, and decisions. The stated annual salary range is $80,000–$140,000 for the primary location; the applicable range may differ for other locations. Requirements

10+ years of project or program management experience within financial services.
Strong understanding of investment management workflows, including middle- and back-office processes.
Proven experience delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives in a structured development environment.
Proven ability to manage dependencies and drive delivery across multi-workstream programs.
Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior and executive audiences.
Experience working closely with engineering teams in Agile or hybrid delivery models.
Experience with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Familiarity with product development lifecycle processes.

Responsibilities

Own delivery of complex product and development initiatives from initial scoping through testing and release.
Develop and manage project plans, tracking milestones, dependencies, and deliverables across Middle Office and Investment Accounting workstreams.
Coordinate Product, Engineering, QA, and Operations teams to support aligned delivery.
Drive issue resolution and risk mitigation, escalating when appropriate to maintain delivery timelines.
Partner with engineering teams to align delivery timelines with product and client expectations.
Drive planning and execution within Agile delivery frameworks and coordinate closely with scrum teams.
Maintain traceability between business requirements, feature development, and release deliverables.
Provide concise project health updates to stakeholders.
Lead project governance, including status reporting, milestone tracking, and structured stakeholder updates.
Prepare and facilitate governance forums, providing visibility into progress, risks, and dependencies.
Enforce delivery standards and project management best practices across workstreams.
Drive corrective actions and interventions when delivery is off-track.
Serve as the primary point of contact for senior stakeholders on project status, risks, and key decisions.
Build alignment across business, product, and technology stakeholders.
Communicate complex project status clearly and concisely to management and executive audiences.
