About The Position

Amazon’s catalog has billions of items and remains the best in the business due to state-of-the-art machine learning techniques and cloud computing technologies. A vast and high-quality product catalog is a key strategic asset for Amazon. This role is within Amazon’s Selection and Catalog Systems, where you will own solutions to a large set of customer-facing product catalog issues that influence critical business processes and product discovery. The work is at the cutting edge of machine learning/information retrieval algorithms and big data analytics, leveraging AWS technologies like TensorFlow, Theano, mxnet, cuDNN, and TensorRT on GPU instances. This position is for individuals excited about using machine learning, information retrieval, and cloud computing to solve highly visible, fast-evolving, ambiguous problems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with end-to-end product delivery
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience managing technical products or online services
  • Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
  • Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools

Responsibilities

  • Scoping and delivering large projects across the Amazon Catalog Systems.
  • Collection of business and systems requirements from internal and external customers.
  • Writing specifications including success criteria.
  • Driving project schedules from design to release.
  • Managing the production launch.
  • Leading and coordinating design/implementation efforts between stakeholders to develop optimal solutions.
  • Making appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market.
  • Clearly communicating goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to stakeholders, internal cross-functional and remote project teams.
  • Having end-to-end ownership - all the way from defining the strategy to measuring metrics to monitoring day-to-day progress of these programs.
  • Providing direct visibility to senior leadership on all aspects of your programs on a regular cadence.
  • Managing business requirements, design, performance expectations and goals with all stakeholder teams.
  • Partnering with management to define strategy and build road maps for the projects you own.
  • Tracking real-time service levels and schedule adherence, and ensuring individual stakeholder teams meet and exceed their performance targets.
  • Being responsible for the overall coordination, quality and productivity and will be the primary point of contact for world-wide stakeholders of programs that you run.
  • Internalizing Amazon’s Leadership Principles, and living those into everyday practices to guide your programs to success.
