Product Manager, Onboarding and Growth

Ashby,
$180,000 - $260,000Remote

About The Position

Ashby is seeking a growth-oriented Product Manager to help users onboard and expand their usage of the product. The primary goal is to eliminate frustration and bring delight to customers. This role involves working with engineers who deeply understand the customer and business problem, owning the solution end-to-end, and spending more time with customers and doing deep product thinking rather than writing detailed specs. Ashby is experiencing significant growth (>100% year over year) with notable customers and best-in-class growth and retention metrics, backed by prominent investors.

Requirements

  • Owned onboarding, expansion, or growth for a B2B SaaS product.
  • Strong product taste, with a view of growth as more art than science.
  • Experience building a growth strategy rooted in principled thinking, research, and data.
  • Evidence of driving long-term growth results.
  • Unnatural curiosity and excitement about the end-user and their jobs.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Experience developing product metrics deeply connected to customer value.
  • Exceptional relationships with customer success teams.
  • Ability to coach and motivate high-agency engineers and drive urgency.

Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of the entire Customer Journey and design a thoughtful onboarding experience for each role, prioritizing the use of product and email to help users at different stages.
  • Spearhead the product-led growth motion by working closely with the Customer Success team and owning transactional email as an extension of the product experience.
  • Define and track key metrics to assess whether the onboarding experience helps customers realize value sooner, partnering with the data team but primarily responsible for defining and analyzing growth metrics.
  • Work closely with the Revenue Operations team to define Product Qualified Leads (PQLs) and determine how they are routed, bridging product signals with go-to-market activity.
  • Own changes to features to make onboarding easier and drive adoption, with the potential to create frameworks and consult with other product teams to help them drive adoption.
  • Remove frustration and add delight to impactful product changes.
  • Give significant white space in specs, allowing more time with customers and deep product strategy thinking.
  • Be a pace-setter for product areas, bringing impatience and time-paranoia, managing project scope well, identifying when to bring in help, and being ruthless about prioritization.
  • Build great onboarding through deep thinking and research, understanding customer problems, and documenting thinking.
  • Invest in platform thinking and product improvements, becoming familiar with Ashby's building blocks for recruiting, managing, and retaining talent.

Benefits

  • 10-year exercise window for stock options.
  • Unlimited PTO with four weeks recommended per year.
  • Twelve weeks of fully paid family leave in the US.
  • Generous equipment, software, and office furniture budget.
  • $100/month education budget with more expensive items covered with manager approval.
  • $250/month tool budget plus access to Claude, Cursor, and Codex with generous token budgets.
  • Top-tier health insurance for you and your dependents in the US, with 100% of premiums covered.
