Product Manager, Interface Design

Hippocratic AI•Menlo Park, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

The Product Manager, Interface Design owns the user experience of HAI’s internal labeling and annotation tool. The role applies consumer-product, gamification, and behavioral-psychology principles to improve a workflow often treated as operations tooling, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and engagement. The Product Manager works closely with Technical Product Managers who run labeling operations and with Engineering to deliver interface and workflow changes. The role is expected to be based in Hippocratic AI’s Menlo Park office five days a week. Success within a year means measurably improving labeler engagement and annotation accuracy over the current baseline, with improvements attributable to the role’s design decisions.

Requirements

  • Consumer app or web product experience with direct ownership of interface and interaction design decisions, not just requirements writing.
  • Experience applying gamification or behavioral-psychology principles to product design.
  • Comfort defining and tracking interface-level metrics such as engagement, accuracy, and completion time.
  • BA or BS degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing or improving a labeling or annotation interface, or a similarly repetitive, high-volume task tool.
  • Background at a data-labeling, crowdsourcing, or annotation platform.
  • Familiarity with the operational side of managing labeling task queues.

Responsibilities

  • Redesign labeling workflows and interaction patterns to reduce time and errors per labeling task.
  • Prioritize interface changes based on where labelers lose time or make mistakes.
  • Define and track interface-level metrics, including task completion time, error or rework rate, engagement, and accuracy.
  • Apply gamification and behavioral-psychology principles to sustain labeler accuracy and engagement across long task queues.
  • Own reward, progress, and feedback mechanics in the labeling application, focusing on sustained quality as well as throughput.
  • Work directly with Technical Product Managers running labeling projects to translate labeler workflow challenges into interface changes.
  • Partner with Engineering to ship interface and workflow changes and make sequencing decisions when priorities compete.
