Product Manager, Financial Systems

Pivotal HealthNew York, NY

About The Position

Pivotal Health is the leading technology platform that helps healthcare providers get paid fairly in an increasingly complex reimbursement landscape. Today, many providers face persistent underpayment from health insurance companies, despite delivering high-quality care. While processes like IDR (Independent Dispute Resolution) were designed to promote fairness, they’re often administrative-heavy, time-consuming, and difficult to navigate without the right tools. Pivotal Health combines software, data, and service into a seamlessly integrated, AI-driven platform that simplifies these complex reimbursement workflows. We help providers efficiently dispute underpaid claims, reduce administrative burden, and recover the reimbursement they’re entitled to; without adding more work to already stretched teams. Our full-service IDR solution is just the starting point. We’re building solutions that enable providers to operate with clarity, control, and confidence across the reimbursement journey. We’re hiring a Product Manager to own a critical part of our product: the integrated systems that power financial reporting, client visibility, and how we communicate value to our customers. This Product Manager role sits at the intersection of finance and engineering. You’ll oversee the Systems Integration team responsible for our client-facing admin portal and the underlying infrastructure that tracks how much money we’re recovering, winning, and returning for our customers, the crux of our value proposition. Pivotal has built strong traction at the intersection of healthcare services and technology, but much of our financial processes have been built quickly to support growth. We’re now at the point where we need to bring structure, clarity, and scalability to these systems. This role requires rapid iteration, hands-on execution, and a willingness to step into whatever function is needed to get the job done. You'll take over an existing surface area that is critical to the business, improve how it works today, and help define where it goes next. If you enjoy turning messy, high-impact systems into something clean, scalable, and intuitive, this role offers the chance to have outsized impact alongside strong Product and Engineering partners.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in product, operations, or a technical or analytical role.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in Product Management
  • Strong execution mindset. You focus on getting things shipped, not just scoped.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and bringing structure where little exists.
  • Analytical and data driven, with experience using SQL and doing financial analysis.
  • Technical fluency: you can engage deeply with engineering, understand technical tradeoffs, and drive clear, informed decisions.
  • Strong systems thinking ability: you can anticipate edge cases and failure modes, and design products and workflows that hold up in real-world complexity
  • Strong communicator who can clearly explain decisions, tradeoffs, and priorities.
  • High ownership mindset. You take initiative and follow through without needing constant direction.
  • Interest in AI/ML and how it can be applied to workflows and automation

  • Experience working on financial systems, payments, or reporting
  • Background in consulting, banking, or other analytical environments
  • Experience in healthcare or regulated industries
  • Experience working on internal tools or operationally complex products

  • Drive Execution: Ship improvements and new functionality that make it easier for customers to understand how we’re performing as a partner.
  • Financial Systems & Integrations: Work on initiatives that surface and power the flow of funds through the IDR process, ledger creation, and integrations with tools like QuickBooks, Brex, and Salesforce.
  • Translate Complexity: Turn complex financial and operational workflows into clear, usable product experiences.
  • Own Customer Satisfaction: Interface directly with customers to ensure we are clearly answering their questions and solving their needs. This role is critical as we expand into different market segments.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Engineering, Finance, Ops, and Customer-facing teams to align on priorities and deliver outcomes.
  • Bring Structure to Ambiguity: Take partially defined systems and help shape how they evolve into more scalable, reliable products.
  • Own Your Roadmap: Contribute to roadmap planning and take increasing ownership over your product area over time.
