About The Position

Vapi is seeking a Principal Product Manager to focus on the enterprise and governance aspects of their voice AI platform. As enterprise revenue has grown significantly, the need for voice AI that can be governed by legal, compliance, operations, and IT leaders has become a major focus. This role is critical for building the trust infrastructure around the voice agents, including live guardrails, audit trails, monitoring, and compliance, especially for high-stakes interactions in regulated industries. The ideal candidate will understand that the product encompasses not just the agent but also the surrounding trust mechanisms.

Requirements

  • Built product at a technical company where buyers included legal, security, compliance, and procurement.
  • Fluent in both API and enterprise procurement language.
  • Experience participating in security reviews, BAA negotiations, and legal hold conversations.
  • Understanding of the critical importance of governance in regulated industries.
  • Strong point of view on the role of AI in the enterprise and experience building with AI.
  • Ability to identify problems, create plans, ship products, and report results independently.
  • Data-driven and disciplined approach to product management.
  • Excellent written communication skills, respecting the reader's time.
  • Competent and low-ego approach to debating timing versus value.
  • Ability to move fast effectively, distinguishing between productive speed and wasteful haste.
  • Approximately 8+ years of product experience, including ownership of an enterprise segment and/or compliance or governance at a technical product company.

Responsibilities

  • Become deeply knowledgeable about the Vapi platform and the enterprise buyer landscape, including product, deals, friction points, and gaps.
  • Map the reasons why enterprise deals stall, such as legal, security, and compliance reviews, feature gaps, and onboarding challenges.
  • Write a concise brief outlining the current state and opportunities within the enterprise segment.
  • Ship a small feature that immediately unblocks a current enterprise customer.
  • Develop a clear strategy and prioritization for the enterprise segment.
  • Own and publish a 12-month rolling roadmap for enterprise, covering all aspects required for regulated businesses to trust voice AI in production.
  • Ship a high-leverage improvement that positively impacts adoption, expansion, or retention.
  • Transform data into actionable knowledge and understand the 'why' behind product performance.
  • Deliver a significant improvement in a core enterprise metric.
  • Make governance features feel seamless and intuitive.
  • Demonstrate excellent product management practices, including crisp specifications, swift decision-making, honest post-mortems, data-driven prioritization, and effective product definition.
