About The Position

Augustus is building a bank from scratch, leveraging a national bank charter (in organization) and a proprietary core banking system called Marble. The company aims to reinvent banking by offering a programmable bank experience. Augustus has secured over $200M in funding from prominent investors and is already operational in Europe with Euro and Stablecoin clearing. They are now establishing their US team and expanding their services. This role focuses on owning the "Banking Experience," which includes customer accounts and the APIs and dashboards used to manage them. The goal is to redefine software quality in banking by creating powerful account structures and intuitive interfaces based on a deep understanding of customer use cases and workflows. The position reports to the Head of Product and works closely with the CTO, with a high degree of autonomy in managing the team's roadmap.

Requirements

Experience end-to-end owning and building banking, fintech, or developer platform products.
Technical enough to spar on architectural decisions with engineers; comfortable in API design discussions.
Experience with control planes, dashboards, or console products at infrastructure, finance, or developer tools companies.
Strong opinions on information architecture and how to organize complex products so they feel simple.
Comfortable in customer-facing roles - have pitched, demoed, and closed early adopters.
Based in New York or Berlin, or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

Redefine what beautiful software in banking looks like.
Define account structures that give customers powerful building blocks for their products.
Craft intuitive interfaces grounded in a deep understanding of customer use cases and workflows.
Own the Banking Experience team's roadmap, ways of working, and decision-making.
Establish a deep understanding of customers and how they use accounts.
Define and ship the first project within the first two months.
Unblock engineering daily and make hard prioritization calls.
Proactively raise the bar across accounts, API, and dashboard by feeding customer learnings into the product.
Evolve the roadmap based on what customers are building on top of Augustus.
Collaborate with design and engineering teams.
Operate with full autonomy on the team's roadmap.
