About The Position

This role partners with assigned Genetic Suppliers and Key Independent Seed Companies (ISC) to document desired portfolios and communicate gaps to Licensing and Research leadership. The Product Life Cycle Manager will work closely with the Licensing Portfolio Leader and Corteva Research Scientists to ensure superior products with targeted traits are developed, evaluated, and advanced. Responsibilities include providing product observations to drive product learning, ensuring licensing maintains unique portfolios suitable for the Genetic Suppliers' geography and meets technology direction, product count goals, and volume targets. The role also involves maintaining relationships with licensing sales teams for product knowledge transfer and training, and obtaining working knowledge of soybean varieties sold by assigned genetic suppliers and ISC within the assigned geography. Participation in the knowledge transfer of agronomics closely associated with product lines is also required. This position is remote, but ideally located in Windfall, IN, and may consider surrounding areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • 5 to 7 years agricultural breeding, product management or agronomy experience.
  • Experience working with Independent Seed Companies and licensing.
  • Technical experience involving soybean varietal development.
  • Develop and maintain expert level of product knowledge of Genetic Supplier and ISC portfolio needs.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in lifecycle management skills, tools and decision making.
  • Excel at written, presentation and oral communication to ensure awareness, direction and ISC service level to enable sales success.
  • Safe operation of company provided vehicle.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Crop production/cultural practices.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Corteva varietal offerings.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Environmental, regulatory, and stewardship issues of Licensing products at the local/regional level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to assimilate large amounts of technical information and to condense it into useable and understandable form.
  • Demonstrated skills in Teaching/training and presenting.
  • Demonstrated skills in Product testing and evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of field experimentation methods.
  • Demonstrated skills in Observing, analyzing, summarizing, and communicating product/agronomic trial results and information.

  • Demonstrated ability to use computer hardware and software to generate reports, access, and communicate Corteva information and complete administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with assigned Genetic Supplier and Key Independent Seed Company (ISC) to document desired portfolios and communicate gaps to Licensing and Research leadership.
  • Work closely with Licensing Portfolio Leader and Corteva Research Scientists to ensure superior products with targeted traits are developed, evaluated and advanced at the R4L (Soybean) pre-commercial testing.
  • Provide product observations to drive product learning for suitability of intended use and steering for trait score adjustments.
  • Ensure licensing maintains unique portfolios that are suitable for the Genetic Suppliers geography and meet the technology direction, product count goals and volume targets.
  • Maintain relationships with licensing sales teams to facilitate in-field and classroom product knowledge transfer and training.
  • Obtain and relay working knowledge of soybean varieties sold by the assigned genetic suppliers and ISC within assigned geography.
  • Participate in the knowledge transfer of agronomics closely associated with product lines.
  • Collect information/notes and observations related to Licensing experimental, commercial, and associated technologies.
  • Evaluate soybean varieties throughout the growing season.
  • Maintain proficiency in data collection, reporting, analysis and forecasting systems.
  • Maintain relationship with and coordinate product evaluation activities with the Licensing Product Life Cycle team.
  • Capture, maintain and understand product portfolio gaps.
  • Select soybean varieties to fill gaps and maintain licensing product portfolios while achieving Corteva channeling strategies.
  • Provide liaison between Genetic Suppliers, ISC, licensing management, portfolio leadership, and R&D.
  • Assist portfolio leads during demand planning activity and life cycle management.
  • Coordinate product specific agronomic testing and sharing information with Corteva research and research scientists.
  • Establish germplasm strategies that are consistent with long-term product development needs.
  • Work with Genetic Suppliers, ISC, portfolio managers and research scientists to create and provide product specific information and training including production recommendations, product characteristics, product positioning and crop management practices.
  • Support product education with Genetic Suppliers and ISC on varietal crops.
  • Assist/support marketing in the generation of performance data and placement information to support product and technology promotion.
  • Collaborate with and support Corteva management and/or stakeholders in assigned geography in a professional manner consistent with Corteva Behaviors (Enrich Lives, Stand Tall, Be Curious, Build Together, Be Upstanding) and Themes (Champion Customer Success and Needs, Partner with Society, Create Value through Op Ex, Bring the Outside In).
