Product Lead, Reporting and Analytics

Rippling•San Francisco, CA

About The Position

At Rippling, Product turns deep technical infrastructure into simple, powerful products for customers. The Product Lead for Reporting and Analytics will own the product experiences and platform foundations that help customers understand what is happening across their business and take action. The role sits within Rippling’s Data Cloud strategy, which brings together first-party, third-party, and customer-created data across HR, IT, Finance, Payroll, Recruiting, and external systems. The goal is to make that data useful through an AI-first, agentic analytics product that lets customers ask questions in natural language, create and explore reports, understand changes, and rely on agents to monitor important metrics and recommend next steps. The Product Lead will shape AI-powered analytics for first-party and third-party application data in a unified platform. This includes setting strategy and roadmap, defining reporting experiences across Rippling, advancing agentic analytics, partnering with Data Catalog and application teams, and enabling internal teams and third-party developers to deliver analytics products and reports. The role works closely with engineering in San Francisco and Seattle and cross-functional partners across Product, Design, AI, Data Catalog, Developer Platform, and native application teams. It also involves direct engagement with enterprise and mid-market customers to understand workflows, validate direction, drive adoption, and measure customer value. The successful candidate will use AI in their own work to synthesize research, explore data, prototype experiences, draft requirements, and test ideas, while applying judgment to verify outputs and guide decisions. They will translate ambiguous customer and platform needs into clear jobs-to-be-done, requirements, milestones, trade-offs, and launch plans. Rippling values in-office collaboration; office-based employees living within a defined radius of an office are expected under current policy to work in the office at least three days per week. The role offers competitive salary, benefits, and equity.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product management experience and a track record of shipping complex B2B products to external customers.
  • Deep experience in analytics, reporting, business intelligence, data platforms, data products, or adjacent customer-facing data products.
  • Experience building products customers paid for and used directly; internal-only data tooling, analytics implementation, or dashboard-building experience alone is insufficient.
  • Strong product judgment for data-heavy workflows, including business users’ needs around metrics, reports, permissions, data quality, and decision-making.
  • Technical fluency in data modeling, querying, metrics, semantic layers, permissions, and platform trade-offs, with the ability to work deeply with engineering.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to connect reporting needs across products without creating one-off solutions for each team.
  • Excellent customer and UX judgment, including the ability to make sophisticated analysis simple, intuitive, and trustworthy.
  • Ability to co-own problem framing and solution strategy with engineering and design partners, question assumptions from first principles, and resolve trade-offs constructively.
  • Clear, concise communication skills and ability to explain technical product concepts to executives, engineers, customers, and non-technical users.
  • High ownership and autonomy; ability to ship reliably without day-to-day oversight and help solve issues that threaten user or business impact.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with limited resources, tight timelines, and high expectations for product quality.
  • Alignment with Rippling’s leadership principles, especially pushing the limits of possible, challenging directly, and seeing customer problems firsthand.
