Product Lead, Reporting and Analytics

Rippling•Seattle, WA
•$153,000 - $255,000

About The Position

At Rippling, Product turns deep technical infrastructure into simple, powerful products for customers. The Product Lead for Reporting and Analytics owns product experiences and platform foundations that help customers understand what is happening across their business and take action. The role is part of Rippling’s Data Cloud strategy, bringing together first-party, third-party, and customer-created data across HR, IT, Finance, Payroll, Recruiting, and external systems to create an AI-first, agentic analytics product. Customers should be able to ask questions in natural language, create and explore reports, understand changes, and rely on agents to monitor important metrics and recommend next steps. The role shapes AI-powered analytics for first-party and third-party application data on a single platform. It includes setting the vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for reporting and analytics; defining reporting experiences across Rippling; developing agentic analytics capabilities; and establishing platform patterns with internal product teams and third-party developers. The Product Lead works closely with engineering, product, design, AI, Data Catalog, Developer Platform, and application teams, and engages enterprise and mid-market customers to validate direction, drive adoption, and measure customer value. The role requires translating ambiguous customer and platform needs into clear jobs-to-be-done, requirements, milestones, trade-offs, and launch plans. It also calls for regular use of AI to synthesize research, explore data, prototype experiences, draft requirements, and test ideas, with judgment applied to verify outputs and guide product decisions. Rippling values in-office work for office-based employees, with at least three days per week in the office under current policy for employees within a defined radius of an office. Compensation includes a competitive salary, benefits, and equity; US salary ranges vary by location, but specific amounts are not included in the posting.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of product management experience, with a track record of shipping complex B2B products to external customers.
  • Deep experience in analytics, reporting, BI, data platforms, data products, or adjacent customer-facing data products.
  • Experience building products that customers paid for and used directly; internal-only data tooling, analytics implementation, or dashboard-building experience alone is not sufficient.
  • Strong product judgment for data-heavy workflows, including business-user needs around metrics, reports, permissions, data quality, and decision-making.
  • Technical fluency in data modeling, querying, metrics, semantic layers, permissions, and platform trade-offs, and ability to work deeply with engineering.
  • Strong systems thinking and ability to connect reporting needs across products without creating one-off solutions for every team.
  • Excellent customer and UX judgment, with ability to make sophisticated analysis feel simple, intuitive, and trustworthy.
  • AI fluency and curiosity, especially about agents investigating questions, monitoring data, generating reports, explaining insights, and recommending actions.
  • Ability to co-own problem framing and solution strategy with engineering and design partners, question assumptions from first principles, and resolve trade-offs constructively.
  • Clear, concise communication skills, including explaining technical product concepts to executives, engineers, customers, and non-technical users.
  • High ownership and autonomy; ability to ship reliably without day-to-day oversight and help solve issues threatening user or business impact.
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with limited resources, tight timelines, and high expectations for product quality.
  • Alignment with Rippling’s leadership principles, especially pushing the limits of possible, challenging directly, and seeing customer problems firsthand.
