Product Experience Design Lead

Cardinal Health
•$106,700 - $152,400

About The Position

Cardinal Health’s Product Experience (PX) team is seeking a Product Experience Design Lead to drive the quality, direction, and impact of product experiences across a portfolio of products and initiatives. This individual contributor serves as the designated Product Experience authority for an assigned business or product portfolio, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders to shape strategy, guide execution, and ensure experiences deliver measurable customer and business value. The role leads through expertise, influence, and decision-making authority rather than direct people management. The role leads discovery and design decisions, translates research, data, and business inputs into recommendations, and guides cross-functional teams through ambiguity. It ensures quality across workstreams, identifies experience gaps and portfolio opportunities, advocates for users while balancing constraints, and connects experience decisions to measurable outcomes. The Lead also contributes to shared Product Experience standards and supports peer growth through collaboration, feedback, and thought leadership.

  • Ability to connect user needs, business goals, technical constraints, and operational realities into cohesive solutions.
  • Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience measuring and articulating the impact of design decisions and customer experience improvements.

Nice To Haves

  • Lead discovery efforts to uncover customer needs, workflow challenges, operational constraints, and strategic opportunities.
  • Translate research, data, and business inputs into clear product and experience recommendations.
  • Own and guide research and design decisions within the area of responsibility.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through ambiguity and help clarify problems before solutions are defined.
  • Ensure experience quality across workstreams and maintain a consistent quality bar for products, features, and initiatives.
  • Identify experience gaps, design debt, customer friction, and portfolio-level opportunities.
  • Advocate for users while balancing technical, operational, and business constraints.
