About The Position

The Product Engineer II performs mechanical and structural design and analysis for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, structures, and instrumentation systems. The position supports the drafting team in preparing detailed drawing packages and collaborates with Manufacturing, Weld Engineering, and Procurement to optimize designs, resolve production issues, and define and purchase materials in time to meet production needs. The role calls for learning and applying multiple engineering disciplines as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering from a four-year college or university.
• Strong academic skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a team member with people at all levels in a customer- and production-support-focused environment.
• Willingness to learn and practice multiple engineering disciplines, including vessel design, steel structure design, and piping system design, as required.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with ASME Pressure Vessel and Piping Codes.
• Familiarity with ASCE, IBC, and other structural standards.
• Proficiency in FEA and/or pipe flexibility analysis.
• Emphasis and experience with structural engineering.
• Five years of design and/or manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Weld Engineering to optimize designs and resolve design-related production problems.
• Collaborate with Procurement to define and purchase job materials in time to meet production needs.
