Product Engineer, Full Stack
About The Position
Laminar is building human-centric self-driving factories that produce goods using proprietary inline sensors, physics and chemistry-grounded foundation models for process reasoning, and real-time process control software. These lines improve productivity and sustainability by using less water and chemicals while running faster and maintaining quality. Laminar operates on six continents with major manufacturers and is backed by investors in Physical AI. The company has a diverse team of 50 engineers, chemists, AI researchers, and go-to-market professionals in Somerville, fostering a culture of autonomy, ownership, and excellence. Laminar Insights is a platform that visualizes and analyzes real-time plant data, showing what happened, why, and the savings achieved in time, water, chemicals, and energy. The company is seeking engineers who can work across the full stack to create user-loved products, addressing challenges such as extracting narratives from data, adapting interfaces to specific processes, accurately representing impact, and building internal tools for forward-deployed engineers.
Requirements
- 1-4 years of experience working with customer-facing products.
- Strong proficiency in React/Typescript and experience working with modern frontend tooling.
- Familiarity with Python for data visualizations and rapid prototyping.
- Strong UX sensibilities and enthusiasm about building features that are performant, intuitive, and polished.
- A self-driven, high ownership mentality to conceptualize customer needs and ship solutions to production.
- An appreciation for simplicity and pragmatism when building software.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative in-person office in Boston.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with data science, backend, and forward-deployed engineering teams to ideate, collect feedback, prototype, and productionize solutions on Insights that address customer challenges.
- Work with different customer profiles to build Insights functionalities tailored to their personas and ensure end-to-end delivery and success of features.
- Identify friction points with engineers, FDEs, and leadership to build internal products that help FDEs move quickly, achieve customer goals, and understand the Laminar model stack.
- Deliver polished user-facing features with scalable UI components that enhance the interpretability of ML models and provide more observability into customer factory processes.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Continuously improve application performance by adopting innovations in frontend frameworks, optimizing SQL queries, or refactoring backend API calls.
