Product Engineer, Full-Stack

Granted•New York, NY
•$140,000 - $200,000

About The Position

Granted is building a consumer-focused platform to help people navigate healthcare bills and insurance coverage. Its AI-enabled services can identify claim denials and billing errors, negotiate bills, and help users understand and use their coverage. The Product Engineer will join the Growth & Engagement pod, which builds the experiences that introduce people to Granted and encourage them to return. The role focuses on shipping across the stack, with an approximate 70% frontend and 30% backend emphasis. Working closely with Product, Design, and senior engineers, the engineer will own features from early product shaping through production and can take on broader scope over time. The team uses AI-native software development tools and works in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of full-stack engineering experience shipping consumer-facing products.
  • Strong TypeScript and React skills, with attention to user experience and product detail.
  • Backend experience building APIs and working with relational databases.
  • Product instinct: ability to think in user journeys and push back on requirements when they do not make sense.
  • Curiosity about building with AI and large language models; professional experience is not required.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment, with clear communication and motivation to grow into greater scope.

Nice To Haves

  • React Native or other mobile development experience.
  • Experience with NestJS/Node, GraphQL, or NextJS.
  • Experience running growth experiments, such as A/B tests, funnels, or analytics instrumentation.
  • Exposure to AWS or infrastructure-as-code tools such as Pulumi.
  • Background in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated consumer products.

Responsibilities

  • Build and ship user-facing web and mobile experiences, including onboarding, activation, and engagement flows.
  • Own features end-to-end: shape user experiences with Product and Design, build supporting APIs and data models, and ship to production.
  • Turn AI capabilities into clear, intuitive product experiences that help users understand and resolve healthcare bills.
  • Run experiments, measure results, and iterate on changes that affect activation and retention.
  • Improve frontend performance, accessibility, and consistency with the design system.
