About The Position

Extenteam is the AI-driven operations platform for short-term rental property management, headquartered in Miami and founded in 2021. Our platform, Shared Services, handles guest communication and daily operational workflows for 80,000+ properties by pairing an AI orchestration layer with a shared-services team of hospitality-trained specialists. This role focuses on improving the internal platform used by the Shared Services team, addressing bugs, missing tooling, and workflow inefficiencies to enhance the AI-led automation and self-serve tools.

Requirements

4+ years of full stack software engineering experience shipping production enterprise software (stronger on the BE).
Direct experience building internal tools, agent-facing platforms, or operational systems.
Product mindset: comfortable scoping problems, asking the right questions, and communicating/prioritizing tradeoffs.
Track record of shipping fast while working inside a product and design process.
Experience working asynchronously with distributed teams.
Strong fluency in TypeScript.
Experience with Next JS, NestJS, TypeORM with Postgres, and BullMQ.
Comfortable with agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Replit Agent).
API integration experience (REST, webhooks, third-party SaaS APIs).
Prompt engineering experience with production AI systems (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar).

Nice To Haves

Experience building tools for contact center, customer support, or operations teams.
Short-term rental, hospitality, or property management domain knowledge.
Track record of deploying AI agents in production.

Responsibilities

Close incoming platform tickets from Shared Services, including quick fixes, workflow bugs, and configuration problems.
Triage, diagnose, and ship fixes for platform issues reported by agents, team leads, and operations.
Identify patterns in recurring issues and fix them at the source to address systemic gaps.
Own features end-to-end: problem framing, design, backend, frontend, instrumentation, rollout, and follow-up fixes.
Collaborate with founders, product, and design at the whiteboard stage to define product direction.
Build AI surfaces of the product, including prompt and agent architecture, tool calling, retrieval, guardrails, and human-in-the-loop escape hatches.
Build and maintain evaluation systems for AI features, ensuring reliability and a regression suite.
Monitor real usage through session replays, logs, transcripts, support tickets, and customer calls to inform shipped changes.
Focus on details that enhance user experience, such as latency budgets, token cost, empty states, error copy, loading behavior, and keyboard paths.
Contribute to cutting scope and identifying features that are not worth building.
Improve team velocity through enhancements to CI, preview environments, internal tools, seed data, and debugging surfaces.
