Product Director

Hope Media Group•New Caney, TX

About The Position

Hope Media Group is a multi-brand ministry whose platforms and programming aim to engage people to love Jesus, serve others, and spread Hope. Its team describes the environment as fun, encouraging, collaborative, engaging, caring, family-oriented, and friendly. The Product Director is the business owner for Hope Media Group’s first digital product, a music app for Christians designed as a generosity-funded alternative to ad-driven and algorithm-driven streaming. The app asks users how they are doing and curates a listening path in response, with the goal of giving back to users rather than extracting from them. The Product Director is accountable for the platform’s overall performance across product, partnerships, and growth, and sets the plan that content, rights, and product engineering work toward. The role owns the product’s strategy, go-to-market approach, brand, P&L, growth and engagement outcomes, and business model. It leads and coordinates the content and partnerships team, represents the product to Hope Media Group’s executive leadership, and manages platform risks, vendors, consultants, budgets, and headcount. The position requires demonstrated Christian faith and participation in ministry activities. Travel may be needed for industry events, conferences, and partner meetings. Occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays may be required for board, ministry, or fundraising events, urgent employee matters, or organizational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Product Management, Media, or a related field, or at least 10 years of equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years in product leadership with direct P&L or business-unit ownership, ideally in streaming media, audio, or subscription apps.
  • Track record taking a consumer product from pre-launch through its first years of growth.
  • Comfort owning a business performance target, not just a product roadmap.
  • Cross-functional leadership across product, content, and partnerships-adjacent teams.
  • Alignment with a generosity-funded, non-extraction model rather than an ad- or data-driven model.
  • Committed to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and grounded spiritually with working knowledge of scripture.
  • Comfort praying for coworkers in team meetings, leading spoken prayer, and participating in ministry prayer meetings and Bible studies.
  • Live Christian principles defined by the ministry’s Statement of Faith & Biblical Beliefs.
  • Passion for leveraging Hope Media Group’s media platforms for evangelism and discipleship.
  • Strong moral character.
  • Active member of a Bible-believing local church.
