About The Position

This role, based at Louisville Assembly Plant, works with a cross-functional team in the investigation of product and production issues. This may include assisting repair technicians in performing vehicle diagnostics, as well as investigating issues arising from the product design or production process. We’re seeking a diligent, detail-driven professional to provide vital Chassis systems expertise in support of our manufacturing processes. This individual will proactively drive cross-functional problem solving and be responsible for leading their vehicle function group to meet quality objectives. Other responsibilities include reviewing and reacting to daily incoming warranty claims data, contacting dealership/s to clarify repair diagnoses, participation in customer call backs to ensure proper understanding of customer feedback, reviewing returned parts for root cause analyses, and the development of Interim Containment and Permanent Corrective Actions. Support Variability Reduction Team (VRT) for specific subsystems and work closely with Supplier partners for subsystem components to address quality concerns Lead engineering trials and the implementation of running changes for the sub-system -Issue engineering Alerts and initiate and/or pursue authorization of engineering Concerns for product changes to support Quality objectives What you'll do... Engage technical experts and functional team members for driving resolution and in developing corrective actions to improve product Quality Maintain sub-system or Vehicle Functional Group (VFG) level Quality documents Make presentations to various levels of upper management (weekly VRT report out, Vehicle Quality Reviews, Engineering Managers reviews) Travel as needed to support prototype vehicle builds and supplier production readiness reviews over the next 6-12 months

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline
  • 2+ years experience in the Design, Manufacture, or Systems Integration of Automotive Chassis systems.

Responsibilities
