About The Position

Creates high quality new products and improves existing products across departments in the Core Division to achieve an increase in overall sales and profits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Science Education, Biology, Zoology, Botany, Genetics, Biotechnology, Anatomy or other related field of science.
  • Minimum of two years related science education experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to effectively plan, implement, and monitor self-directed and group projects.
  • Must possess very good written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects and stages of the product development process for the development of new science education products; from ideation to product development to working with the product manager to assist with product launch.
  • Develops product laboratory activities, assessments, and Bills of Materials based on product goals.
  • Revise, update, and improve existing science education products as needed and identified to meet higher sales goals.
  • Responsible for providing technical support and preliminary marketing content for new and revised products developed to product management staff.
  • Develop science educational content for various science discipline areas based on needs and goals of product management staff.
  • Keep abreast of trends and changes in science education, science standards especially the Next Generation Science Standards, and courses of study to ensure alignment and quality of new products. Makes suggestions to product management staff to ensure alignment of products to trends in science education including 3-dimensional teaching and learning.
  • Keep abreast of new developments in current science research that may be translated to the science education market.
  • Identify potential new product development opportunities with outside organizations.
  • Develop, foster, and maintain relationships with customers to create a pool product testing agents.
  • Identify potential new resale products in the science education market.
  • Provide appropriate support for new products developed to operations, marketing, product management, and customer service groups.
  • Interact with Operations to ensure that product specifications are clearly defined and costs are kept at a minimum.
  • Enhance company product marketing efforts by attending tradeshows and giving workshops.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required.
