Product Designer

Midstream Health

About The Position

Midstream is seeking a Product Designer to join their team. This role involves solving complex operational problems in healthcare by transforming fragmented, manual workflows into intuitive, AI-powered experiences. The designer will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and health system partners to enable faster, better financial decisions. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys owning product experiences end-to-end, shaping product strategy through research, and translating complex enterprise workflows into scalable experiences. As one of the early designers, this role will also contribute to shaping the design function and culture within the company as it scales. The designer will be responsible for the entire design lifecycle, from customer research and problem definition to wireframing, prototyping, visual design, launch, and iteration. They will also contribute to the company's design system and help define how AI integrates into enterprise workflows, ensuring user trust and effective communication of AI-generated insights. Additionally, the designer will apply their expertise beyond product design when it benefits the company, supporting launches, improving customer experiences, or contributing to other high-impact initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience designing digital products, ideally within enterprise SaaS or workflow-intensive applications
  • Experience owning end-to-end product design, from user research through implementation and iteration
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful UX, interaction design, and visual design across complex enterprise products
  • Experience simplifying data-rich workflows and designing for multiple user personas
  • Experience conducting customer research and translating insights into product decisions
  • Proficiency with Figma and modern design and prototyping tools
  • Experience collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate design rationale to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Curiosity about AI-powered products and enthusiasm for designing the next generation of enterprise software
  • Data-driven: Use customer research, analytics, and measurable outcomes to guide design decisions.
  • Ownership mindset: Proactively engage with customers, collaborate deeply with Product and Engineering, challenge assumptions, and take responsibility for delivering meaningful outcomes.
  • Systems thinker: Naturally think beyond individual screens and consider how workflows, components, information architecture, and interactions come together into a cohesive product experience.
  • AI fluent: Understand the fundamentals of modern AI and machine learning well enough to design practical, trustworthy user experiences around them.
  • Bias to action: Thrive in fast-moving startup environments where learning, iteration, and shipping matter.
  • Team-first: Care more about company impact than rigid job boundaries; motivated by solving the highest-impact problems alongside teammates.
