About the position

Coda is seeking a Product Designer to contribute to the future of productivity software and creation tools. The role involves tackling complex design problems and creating a flexible surface that allows users to personalize their work and life tools. The Product Designer will collaborate with customers to understand their needs and develop innovative features. This is an opportunity to join a small design team and have a significant impact on the foundation of the product.

Responsibilities

Bring a user focus to brainstorming sessions and critiques
Refine concepts to bring them to life
Conduct user research and usability testing to discover and validate designs
Prototype interactions in design tools like Figma or by digging into the code
Oversee the build process with developers in a tight feedback loop
Help mold the company culture to focus on the user and encourage design thinking
Distill complex tools or concepts into simple design solutions
Collaborate with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to make design-centered decisions
Expand the visual style of the product while maintaining a good aesthetic sense
Tinker and make improvements to enhance the product
Care about teammates and work to uplift and improve the team
Pay attention to details to make the product usable and delightful
Have at least 5 years of design experience

Requirements

Experience distilling complex tools or concepts down to simple design solutions
Ability to collaborate with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to make design-centered decisions
Strong aesthetic sense and ability to work within and expand the visual style of the product
Curiosity and willingness to tinker and improve
Ability to uplift and improve the team
Attention to detail in creating usable and delightful products
5+ years of design experience
