Product Design Principal

The Product Design Principal role at Giant Machines is responsible for contributing to the development and functioning of the product design practice within the company. They will serve as an advocate and mentor for the product design team, helping them grow and develop as designers and leaders. The role also involves being an ambassador for product design, hosting seminars and presentations, and creating new design artifacts and frameworks. Collaboration with engineering, product, and strategy teams is essential to ensure a cohesive and collaborative approach. Additionally, the Product Design Principal will work with sales and other teams to incorporate product design into sales efforts and win engagements that require design expertise.

• Contribute to crafting how a product design practice functions at Giant Machines.
• Advocate for and mentor the product design team and help them develop as product designers and project leaders.
• Be a product design ambassador and advocate - hosting product design seminars and presentations and developing new product design artifacts and frameworks with their team.
• Work closely with engineering, product, and strategy leaders and teams to build on our one team initiative - our desire for a cohesive, highly collaborative and cooperative, cross functional team.
• Work with sales, revops, product, engineering, and strategy teams to craft how product design work layers into existing sales efforts.
• Help sales win engagements that require product design expertise.
• Provide new engagements with Design and stakeholder leadership to ensure alignment and opportunities to influence client leadership for the first 4-6 months.
• Have 5+ years experience in the Product Design practice and industry-leading design techniques and practices.
