About The Position

The Product Design Intern will join Stripe’s Product Design team and work on real projects needed by customers. Product Designers partner with Engineering and Product Management to shape user experiences and translate them into high-quality designs that can be tested, shipped, and refined. The intern will contribute design iterations to ongoing workstreams, help increase global commerce, and shape new experiences. The internship is competitive, with high expectations, and focuses on designing and building experiences that will be shipped to users in production.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a design-related field, such as UX/UI, Interaction Design, Human Interface, Computer Science, HCI, or a related discipline.
• Some experience using computer programs to design, such as Figma or Canva.
• Demonstrated experience designing experiences and user flows.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems, develop understanding through independent research, and work effectively with a mentor and teammates.
• Self-motivated problem solver committed to personal growth.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proven ability to use AI tools to accelerate work while applying critical thinking and professional judgment to review, refine, and validate outputs.
• Ability to participate in a paid, full-time internship between May and August 2027.

Nice To Haves

• Previous project, internship, or work experience in UX/UI design or related fields.
• Experience conducting or working with research, presenting results, and acting on those results.
• Experience with AI tools such as Cursor, Lovable, or V0.
• Strong knowledge of design craft and visual design.
• Intent to return to the degree program after completing the internship or co-op.

Responsibilities

• Work on a product design project with a product team, translating business ideas into real experiences.
• Help craft thoughtful experiences that enable startups and large businesses to establish and manage their businesses.
• Apply problem-solving skills and human-centered approaches to complex and ambiguous business and user problems.
• Develop and refine design solutions in close partnership with other designers.
• Craft and prototype visually polished experiences to gather user feedback.
• Partner with Engineering to implement a feature or product from design through implementation and delivery to users.
• Participate in group design critiques and collaborative design sessions, giving and receiving feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineers, product managers, data scientists, and researchers, proactively seeking and incorporating feedback.
• Understand and advocate for users, participating in the design process from early concepts through final delivery.
