About The Position

Stripe’s Product Design internship offers the opportunity to work on real product projects that customers need. As part of the Product Design team, the intern will collaborate with product teams to shape user experiences and create high-quality designs that can be tested, shipped, and refined. The role focuses on designing and building production experiences, contributing iterations to ongoing projects, and helping create new experiences that support global commerce. The intern will work closely with designers, engineers, product managers, data scientists, researchers, and other stakeholders, from early concepts through implementation and final delivery.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a design-related field, such as UX/UI, Interaction Design, Human Interface, Computer Science, HCI, or a related discipline.
Some experience using computer programs to design, such as Figma or Canva.
Demonstrated experience designing experiences and user flows.
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
Ability to learn unfamiliar systems, build understanding through independent research, and work effectively with a mentor and teammates.
Self-motivated problem solver committed to personal growth.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to accelerate work while applying critical thinking and professional judgment to review, refine, and validate outputs.
Ability to participate in a paid full-time internship between May and August 2027.

Nice To Haves

Previous project, internship, or work experience in UX/UI design or related fields.
Experience conducting research or working with research, presenting results, and acting on those results.
Experience with AI tools such as Cursor, Lovable, V0, or others.
Strong knowledge of design craft and visual design.
Intent to return to the degree program after completing the internship or co-op.

Responsibilities

Work on a product design project with a product team, translating business ideas into real experiences.
Help craft thoughtful experiences that enable startups and large businesses to establish and manage their businesses.
Apply problem-solving skills and human-centered approaches to complex and ambiguous business and user problems.
Develop and refine design solutions by partnering closely with other designers.
Craft and prototype visually polished experiences to gather user feedback.
Partner with engineering to implement a feature or product from design through implementation and release to users.
Participate in group design critiques and collaborative design sessions, giving and receiving feedback.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineers, product managers, data scientists, and researchers, and proactively seek and incorporate feedback.
Understand and advocate for users throughout the design process, from early concepts to final delivery.
