About The Position

BAE Systems is hiring a Product Area Finance Manager to support its Aerospace and Mission Systems (AMS) Tactical Solutions (TS) business. The role is the finance lead for one of the Mission Systems (MS) product areas—EOIR or RF—and reports to the MS Finance Manager. The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit provides business expertise and actionable information, recommendations, and opportunities to support sustainable business growth. The manager leads finance staff and supports program execution, proposal development, business operating rhythms, strategic planning, financial reviews, contract-related processes, project accounting, and compliance with internal standards and the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) System Description. The position requires regular on-site engagement at the primary work location at least three days per normally scheduled week. Work may take place in an office, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor, and travel or commuting between company campuses and other locations may be required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8 or more years of related experience. A higher-level degree, such as a master’s or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience per degree; related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Degree must be from a university, college, or school accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or U.S. Department of Education.
Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

Must be willing and eligible to undergo submission for applicable clearance or access, depending on program requirements, after accepting an offer, and able to maintain it. A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for the position.

Nice To Haves

Advanced degree.
Six or more years of relevant experience in Aerospace and Defense (A&D) or a similar government contracting environment.
CPA, CMA, CFA, or another equivalent financial certificate or license.

Responsibilities

Lead and develop a team of finance staff, ensuring they have the training and capabilities to support TS business objectives.
Support program execution and proposal bid development in compliance with internal standards.
Support business operating rhythms, including operating reviews and KPI tracking, and collaborate on strategic planning initiatives.
Review business-area project lists monthly to ensure correct project accounting and adequate closeout activities.
Lead the financial aspects of the Request for Bid Approval (RBA) process and serve, as applicable, as a key member of contract negotiation teams.
Lead quarterly Estimate at Complete (EAC) reviews and monthly Business Area Reviews (BAR).
Ensure consistency and alignment in financial practices across programs.
Ensure compliance with the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) System Description.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the department, Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units, and the Company, and interact appropriately to support a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
