About The Position
KIFI Local News 8, located in beautiful Idaho Falls, is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Producer to join our staff. This is an opportunity to work with a #1 news team that covers stories relevant to viewers in today's constantly changing world. The newsroom is fast-paced and emphasizes breaking news, enterprise reporting, and severe weather coverage. The company supports employee growth and celebrates successes. Requirements
- Strong writing and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and handle stress
- Good team leader
- Proficient in multi-tasking
- Flexible schedule
- Must pass a background check and drug test
Nice To Haves
- Degree in journalism, mass communications or equivalent experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Directing reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks
- Responding to viewer inquiries
- Making regular "beat" calls to police and fire agencies to stay on top of breaking news
- Being an integral part of the "big story"
