About The Position

Albertsons Companies is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Produce Manager to lead their produce department with a passion for freshness, quality, and customer satisfaction. This role involves overseeing daily operations, including ordering and receiving shipments, maintaining displays, rotating stock, and ensuring high standards. The Produce Manager will lead and train a team, manage inventory, and create a welcoming shopping experience. Requirements

  • Strong customer service, communication, and leadership skills that support positive interactions with customers, associates, vendors, and store leadership.
  • Ability to lead a team, make sound operational decisions, and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced retail environment.
  • Understanding of produce and floral operations, department procedures, food safety standards, and prior supervisory experience.
  • Able to supervise and train staff, work in varied temperature environments, perform repetitive tasks, and respond quickly to customer needs.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Willingness to work in different store locations when transferred, with no routine travel required.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during peak times, maintain food safety and safety compliance, and handle difficult situations professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all aspects of Produce & Floral department operations, including customer service, merchandising, product quality, ordering, pricing, stocking, staffing, and training.
  • Achieve department goals for sales, gross profit, labor, shrink, and inventory. Ensure adherence to all company and department policies and procedures.
  • Perform duties of department personnel as needed; act as manager‑on‑duty when Store/Assistant Manager is absent.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate 2–20 associates in a fast‑paced, multifunctional environment, including disciplinary actions when required.
  • Prepare weekly work schedules and determine appropriate staffing levels based on business needs.
  • Maintain food safety, workplace safety, and support company audit readiness.
  • Operate store computer systems effectively to support department operations.
