About The Position

The Produce Manager supervises the produce department to ensure Lowes Foods guest service, merchandising programs, and departmental operations are maintained. The role oversees produce and floral service, sales and profits, inventory, product quality, sanitation and safety, staff training and performance, labor budgets, and scheduling. The manager also performs product preparation, receiving, conditioning, stocking, and guest service as needed.

Requirements

Ability to work well with others.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and 25 lbs. constantly.
Ability to read and understand information and direction.
Knowledge of produce operations.
Ability to supervise people, including training and development.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
Effective communication and guest service skills.
Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from produce/floral department staff.
Achieve budgeted sales and profits for the produce/floral department.
Maintain the desired level of inventory and supplies.
Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
Ensure products for sale meet Lowes Foods quality standards.
Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
Provide guidance, orientation, training, and feedback to help produce department hosts meet satisfactory performance standards.
Perform product preparation, receiving, conditioning, stocking, and guest service as needed to achieve standards.
Maintain the department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
