About The Position

The Produce Department Manager at Wholesale Club is responsible for the daily operations of the produce department, aiming to meet or exceed sales and profitability targets. Key aspects of the role include training and developing department associates in customer service, product knowledge, and merchandising. The manager ensures proper stocking, display, and pricing of merchandise, monitors inventory levels, and coordinates with other departments for timely replenishment. Maintaining a clean and safe department for both customers and employees is also crucial. Financial responsibilities involve managing departmental expenses and assisting in budget preparation. The manager will regularly communicate with store management and other department managers to align with store-wide goals. Additionally, the role involves actively seeking out new talent, leading, coaching, and motivating colleagues to enhance productivity, engagement, and retention, and upholding merchandising and operational standards. The manager is expected to build and lead diverse teams that foster an inclusive and belonging workplace culture. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store setting
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop associates
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
