About The Position

The Produce Clerk provides excellent guest service through produce department activities. The role prepares and displays produce, maintains product freshness and quality, assists with deliveries, and keeps the backroom, cooler, and sales area sanitary. The clerk also helps guests with product knowledge, preparation, and weighing, communicates guest requests and temperature breakdowns to management, and performs front-porch duties to ensure “no noticeable wait.” Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and 25 lbs. constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Effective communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
• Prepare produce for display on the sales floor.
• Stock, price, rotate, and place products on produce displays according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain the freshness and quality of produce for sale.
• Assist with unloading product deliveries.
• Provide guest service through product knowledge, preparation, and product weighing.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the backroom, cooler, and sales area.
• Communicate guest requests to management.
• Communicate temperature breakdowns to management.
• Perform front-porch duties to ensure “no noticeable wait.”
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
